It looks to me like somebody simply copying online PDFs and burning them onto CDs.
He's making some side bucks off the Estes, Jim Z and Old Rocket websites.
He's even put a Copyright with his name (Clark Ward Orange) on it!

I noticed this as well. I've been trying to collect original scans for my upcoming online archive. I've tried to contact JimZ to see if he minded sharing the data on his page to expand mine. Especially since his site seems to have fallen by the wayside.

What about Shasta? Shana? I ended up there once, can't now remember.

I have saved most of the face cards and instructions from rockets I have built over the years.

Please... Scan them. You never know when they might be useful for a BAR.

+1 As a BAR, I need these items to build the kits I never had as a kid. The community will be thankful. I will be thankful. K'Tesh will be very thankful.

Lets not forget that plans are copyrighted by the makers of the kits. To wholesale copy plans and decals and make them available to others is copyright infringement, no different than copying music or videos to share with others. It does not matter if no money changes hands, it's still infringement. Kit instructions and face cards are covered under copyright law as are most kit designs.

Even if a company goes out of business that does not mean that their designs go into the public domain. Someone may have purchased or have been given the rights to the kits as part of the business closure.

Just because something has been going on a long time does not make it permissible or right. I work with folks who are creatives and their number one complaint is the wholesale copying and re-distribution of their work.

That seller has quite a variety of CDs for sale on eBay. I don't know enough about copyright law to say smart entrepreneur or bold thief. I have a lot of respect for the creators in our hobby and would tend to defer to them beyond whatever the law allows.

I have an eye on quite a few of his CD's. For someday...when SSDI ever starts coming.
I know quite a few of his products were purchased, as I know where they come from.
I wouldn't make a big stink over it.
Maybe he's in a similar situation as me, and just trying to feed his family.
There is worse things being done by far.
Amazon has filed suits against several of their providers for selling knock offs as the real deals.
I imagine if he's in the wrong, someone that has the right will take action.
