I've been kidding a lot about my wife lately, she really doesn't mind if I fly rockets. She has seen what it has come to mean to my son and to me, and with all the trouble I have had with transitions and CA(I believe it comes straight from the devil himself), she has really helped me with a second set of hands, and ideas.

Just don't mention "the hamster".

Thanks for all your help and patience.

I'll second the CA seeming to be the work of the devil.... When it goes bad with CA it REALLY goes bad. :cyclops:

I'm grateful that my wife is understanding about my kidding episodes. The good ones understand that guys have limited capacity to express frustration in a constructive manner. The occasional ice cube in the pants or playful *** in the ribs is how my sweetie levels the playing field.

Keep us in the loop on the outings with your son. Not everybody gets to enjoy a hobby with their kids.

...it's a much less expensive hobby than car raceing.

Trust me, I know :p I'm trying to do both with a lot more success with the rocket thing, fortunatly.

Well my son is off at college, not far but far enough were he doesn't come home every weekend. We stay in touch and I email him my ideas for rockets, he checks to see if they will be stable (he wrote a python program that tells him if a design will be stable or not), and lets me know.

We will be doing some flying during Thanksgiving holidays.

Rocketry really helped me stay in touch with my dad while I was doing my undergrad. Every so often, we'd meet up at a point about halfway to the launch site and ride out together. And Tripoli Las Vegas' Turkey Shoot was a Thanksgiving break tradition for a long time, until they moved it to August.

Of course now I'm stuck halfway across the country at grad school so that ain't happening anymore, but hopefully we'll get some rocket stuff done when I fly home for Thanksgiving!

Then you know how freshmen undergrads are. They know everything. :)

One nice thing is that his room mate is into rockets also. Unfortunately they do not allow them to have them on campus.

There is a rocket group in Seguin and they have attended one of their launches.
