Im wondering what is the better material to use for the shock cord? Kevlar is fireproof so it seems like the best choice. Any thought on what to use. Getting ready to build a 4 inch rocket with dual deploy.

Both have their strengths. Kevlar is stronger but have less give and more expensive. It will cause more tube zippers. You can counter this with the right technique. The right size tubular nylon is more flexible and will cause less zippers but you must protect it from the heat.

Pick one and use it with the right technique and it will outlast your rocket in most cases.
