Kevlar shock cord for L1 Cert scratch build

Retired and back i the hobby, doing mainly mid power scratch build. I prefer to use only Kevlar as a shock cord.

Slowly designing and building a level one rocket to try out this spring.

I would like to use heavy duty Kevlar from bolt on engine mount to nose cone, about 8 to 10 feet long.

Any thoughts appreciate.

Lotsa folks use Teddy / ‘One Bad Hawk’s’ recovery harnesses. His site includes a wealth of information in addition to products, including recommendations for kevlar sizing based on airframe sizes, etc.

How heavy is the rocket?

I recommend at least 20 feet.
