I have some BT60 rockets that I'd like to use my JLCR with (not yet used due to no launches this year). A few of those rockets have plastic parachutes. Any special considerations to using the Chute Release with plastic chutes? Same packing technique?

One thing I am mildly concerned about is the opening shock when the parachute opens and the rocket is descending without a drogue. Can a plastic parachute handle it?

The biggest challenge using estes chutes with the chute release is getting enough volume beneath the band so its stretched springy.

Ill often use a twig or stick along the chute bundle to give that extra smidge of tension to the band so it springs out cleanly

Forst time i used the chute release was in my estes patriot and flying falcon 9, so it is doable with the thin plastic chutes

Edit: yep, use John's recommended chute roll. Also recovery stress is negligible
