I have an oppertunity to buy a 38/240 Dr rocket casing that is in decent shape. It has been used 10 times (that's what I have been told) and the owner is willing to sell it for 60 bucks (includes shipping) Forward and Aft closures included.

IS THIS A DECENT DEAL?

beats me

Magnum is selling brand new one a Dr.Rocket RMS 38/240 motor which I assume is what this is for $77... says retail is $92..

I can only assume that if a motor system was well taken care of....then does it matter if it has 5/10/15/20 launches on it? I don't know the answer to that....

I think anytime you can get used casings, it's a good deal. I managed to find the full line of 38mm casings with 3 sets of closures and 2 seal disks for about $200.

The 38/240 is a great little motor. You'll love the H242T. My uncle launched one of those in his Cirrus Dart. Wow, that was fast.:)

Price seems kinda high. If you haven't already, check Magnum's site - under Radical Ross Specials - you'll see the 38mm set (240, 360, 480 casings) with one set of closures is $99.99. You can always off-load the other casings but you'll probably want them eventually for ever larger rockets.....
