Hi Angelo.

Google map Greencastle, Co. Donegal Ireland and look at the terrain. It's a peninsula pointing out into a very large 'Lough' (irish for really big bay). The rocket was set up for a water landing in Lough Foyle, about a mile and half out towards Derry city.

The ejection charge misfired and the 20 foot chute got caught up in a nomex blanket.

The rocket hit the water very hard indeed. However the progniosis is good. Repair parts are already 'winging their way from across the pond' as we speak.

Good point. I totally agree.

As this was a public event the local police where in charge of public order and decided when the rocket should fire. It had already been delayed for an hour.

Their firearms and explosives officers where of the opinion that as the wall the spectators where standing behind was a castle battlement (Greencastle) and had been there for 500 years it would be safe enough. Go figure...
