Ok...

Still looking for a usable Int-G kit for building; not collecting...

If you have, and are willing to sell an unbuilt kit (not give away) please respond via pm.
Can't guarantee top dollar, but am no slouch either!

Also would like...

Vindicator (have a wrap to use for it...)
Interceptor II
Interceptor G

Thanks again in advance!!!

FWIW, if you're looking to scratch build, you can build an upscale of the Interceptor or Vindicator using the the Cosmic Interceptor or Trajector as a basis. I'm in the process of building an Orbital Interceptor upscale now, using LOC 2.6" tubing. At least with that, there isn't anything funky or unique to sort out (like the regular Interceptor nose cone).

Nice kit, but the issue is with the pods, plastic work and fins.

Typically I've found almost everybody on TRF willing to help; but on this bird folks are surprisingly tight-lipped about them. I really don't want an i-g, I want to build an upscale 4" HPR version (re-live the late 70's childhood!).

Thanks for the reply!

I don't think that folks are necessarily tight-lipped, but probably don't have anything useful to you. I have a copy of the regular Interceptor (repop) and Interceptor-E, but I didn't even know that the -G existed. So finding info is tough when there isn't a lot of info to find... It also seems like you're back and forth as to whether you want a vintage kit or just the reference material for cloning/scaling. The former is tougher, but the latter can be mostly had without difficulty:

https://plans.rocketshoppe.com/estes/est1358/est1358.htm
https://plans.rocketshoppe.com/estes/est1973/est1973.htm

The trouble with upscaling any of these is basically the same - how to address the plastic and unique parts...

EXP,

The plastic parts are actually fairly easy parts to deal with and would only take a few days to capture and create. The mold would take some time, but it is after all essentially a conical nose with a driver seat (an f106 DD canopy I believe). My only concern is getting the dimensions right and good enough info to reproduce (IE upgrade) the pods and plastic piping. If I have to I'd buy it to, but I'm hoping it's not necessary.

Plus, when this thing takes off, I'll share everything so no one as to ask again.

I took out the plastic parts and decals and took some pictures. Not the best quality photos, but it's a start. I can probably get better images of the decals using the copier/scanner at work.

Looks like the plastic parts on the tree were from the Mercury Atlas...I've never seen a picture of this model that shows all the plastic bits and where they go.

you guys are quick!

Thanks to RF for posting!

You'd be surprised what you can do with a 3d printer these days. The guys and gals (actualy kids to me due to age) at my college (yes, back to school after 27 years) have used the printer for nose cone, nozzles, and fins for altitude rockets. Me, I'm an old paper and balsa assembler myself, so I hadn't realized.

Thanks again!!

Not a problem, it took only took me a few minutes to pull the stuff out and snap a few pictures. You have me wanting to start in on building it, but I have a big project I have to finish before starting any more rockets. I thought about selling it because it was sitting around for so long and I was spending a lot on other stuff, but I quickly got smart.

The rocket in my avatar is my built, flown a bunch (including some hard landings) and retired (for now) Interceptor G. It is piloted by Chester Cheetah and the wooden dowel tubes are replaced with aluminum tubing, and there are a couple of threaded studs sticking through the tailcone for retention, but otherwise built as per directions.

Hey All!

Well, after much talking and battling back and forth, I've had to break down and buy the Interceptor kit. Though it is just the 1250 kit, I can validate my measurements in an unbuilt state and (most importantly) get the original decal sheet in my hands. Once I get it and (ummm yeah...) build it, I'll put the OR file on here for everyone to play with. BTW, if all goes as planned I'll have a 5.5" version on N power ready for Southern Thunder 2017. Plans change of course, but my L2 build has been mocked up for flight, so it's a test and flight away. Special Thanks to RF for taking photos and just generally putting up with me!

And again,

Wonders never cease! Bagged me a Int-E!!!!!! I will have sooooooo much fun (ohhhh yessss!) building that one that I'm gonna break tradition and say OMG!

Thanks again TRF!! As usual you come through!!

Still looking for a vindi, int-II,int-G, F-61 if anyone knows of a source!!

How bad do you want a Vindicator? I have one and if you offered me enough money, I could be persuaded to part with it. However, if you don't need the actual kit, it would be easy to clone. The only plastic part is the nose cone. That cone is available in Estes' SiFi code collection. The only difficult part would be the decals. If you cannot do them yourself, Tango Papa could probably make a set. Stickershock23 has them for upscales, but I don't know if they could do a 1x or not.

The Interceptor II would also be an easy clone. It does have an unusual nose cone, but if nothing else you can by a Astrosat kit for the cone.

I also have a Interceptor G that I might be persuaded to part with. It has been opened, so it is not a collectable.

Are you looking for a North Coast Rocketry Interceptor G? I have one still in the shrink wrapped box. I know you are not looking for a collectors kit but PM me with what you will be with shipping and I will consider it. Rather see it fly than sit in the box.
