The body tube in my kit measures exactly 15.500 inches. The quarter inch launch lugs are 1.002 inches. The green motor mount ring is .500 inches. The motor mount tube is 4.507 inches. Nose cone shoulder diameter is 2.925 inches. Long shoulder length is 2.975 inches and short length is 1.500 inches.

As for the decals, honestly, the only thing self stick decals are good for is taking up space in a landfill. Mine went in the trash without even looking at them. Now I see they are not even complete. Yuck! All the more reason to have T.P. make an upscale set of the originals.

Already have a set of plywood fins and rings on order so I haven't opened that bag yet.

Andrew

Thanks for the info! Once I get through this weekend, I'll be able to apply myself to this sim. I've got the new computer mostly up and running.

Any chance you could measure the exposed length of the nosecone? And the materials/dimensions of the shock cord?

Thanks!

All The Best!
Jim

Shock cord is 1/4” wide x 50.5” long and it’s rubber like a rubber band (gray). The parachute is plastic. Nosecone 12.5”, shoulder 2.8”

Oh, and you’ll love this K’Tesh, on one of the parts it says “Made in China.” It’s come full circle.

Ok, so I opened everything up and got my calipers and gram scale and went to work.
The nosecone exposed length is 12.5 inches as stated above. I could not weigh it as it is over 50.000 grams.
The balsa wood fins measurements are:
Root chord 5.518in Tip chord 4.418in
Leading edge 7.188in Trailing edge 4.782in
TTW tab 2.820in long starting 2.110in from leading edge
Thickness .122 - .124in Weight 7.700g each.

Aftermarket plywood fins from Vanderburn have the same dimensions except they are .113 - .116in thick and weigh 42.773g each.

Estes paper centering rings are .040in thick and 2.936in wide and weigh 2.836g
The notched ring weighs 2.769g
The Vanderburn plywood rings are .113 - .116in thick and 2.910in wide and weigh 7.417g
The notched ring weighs 7.358g
The following are all weights in grams:
Shroud lines 1.875g
Parachute 20.240g
Shock cord 7.398g
Motor retainer 13.592g
Motor tube 7.941g
Launch lug .319g each
Green motor ring 1.050g
Clay nose weight 29.017g total

Anything I left out? Let me know. I hope this helps make an awesome sim.

Andrew

My scale that can go high enough to weigh the nose cone only has gram accuracy but it's reading 96g.
