ICBM December 2016 Research and Sport Launch Camden SC

I'm thrilled that I will be able to take part in this years last event in Camden SC.

My flight is booked from Germany and I'm ready to do some flying

On my last outing I reached an altitude of a little over 2000 feet with my Estes Ascender. This time around I plan to up it to 2700 feet and experiment with streamer for drogue recovery.

I'm hoping for a great turnout, good flying weather and lots of fun.

I'm a maybe, really hoping to make my Level 2 Cert flight but I need to get some ground testing in. We are in a serious burning ban and very close to the active forest fires. Air quality is terrible, it feels a lot like having a bad cold.

As soon as we get rain, I'm gonna ground test this baby, then head to Camden.

Looks like a Friday and Saturday prep for a Sunday arrival at the field for me.
And with the conversation I had today - by sheer chance - with Crazy Jim, things look very promising for burning some of the more potent motors I have in reserve.
(i.e. light winds within my personal/and club altitude limits)
