Centuri and Estes catalogs from the 1960's all the way up to the 90's - 00's. Photos you can pore through to your heart's content...

and there is the JimZ Rocket Plans site (https://www.spacemodeling.org/jimz/) which has archived copies of instructions/templates for many older Estes and Centuri kits.

That site also archives the Estes Design of the Month contest entries, models that were designed by fellow modelers and recognized by Estes, but never kitted by Estes.

Here's a scratch built rocket of mine loosely based on the original Estes Star Blazer (K-31) so I call it the Sorta Star Blazer. It's BT50 based but could be made larger or smaller. I used 1/16" hobby grade plywood from Amazon for the fins but you could use balsa. I got the plans for the Star Blazer from JimZ's site for the fin template and upscaled them. https://spacemodeling.org/jimz/k-31.htm

What do you like?

You could make a downscale of your BT-60 rocket.

Maybe try making a minimum diameter for mini engines with some of the BT-5. Put a 13mm motor mount in BT-20 for a fun park flyer. BT-50 or 55 with 18mm motor mounts is good for two staging.

You can also explore tube fins, clusters, etc... whatever you want!

If you see anything here you want more information on, just ask.

Might need to wind some cardstock custom rings for the large ring fins or scrounge a bit of BT70.

Coincidentally, I christened my 3x24mm in BT-70 "Triffid" the month before that article came out. Since neither rocket is actually a self-locomotive carnivorous plant of possibly alien origin, I figure both rockets can share the name. :D

Out of the bt5,I was thinking of making the mosquito, but a bee
I like those ideas though! Thanks a lot!
Nice rockets too

Here is another one. I built this one a long time ago, could have been nearly 40 years ago. The nose cone and the transition are both balsa. I was pondering the paint scheme for a long time so it just had its white base coat on it. Unfortunately almost anything I've sprayed on the main body tube has crinkled it, 40 years later. I may have to somehow paint it with acrylic.

What r those rockets on the right?

What r those rockets on the right?
On the far right, mostly out of frame? Those are my brother-in-law's rockets from when he was a kid. He keeps them at my house because he only ever flies when he's visiting me. There's a Colossus, a Comanche 3, an Interceptor II, an Astron Shrike, and the remains of something I don't know (a body tube with two side boosters, no fins or nose cone, and no identifying decals).

Closer in on the right are my Estes Super Nova, Apogee Slo-Mo, and Estes Vapor.

Cloned Attack Craft Orion (nosecone stl is up on Printables.com) in BT50 and downscaled to BT5
