I have sent multiple emails in the past year, none of which have been replied to. I left a voicemail yesterday, but I have seen on some other threads that he probably won't respond to that either. I would like to contact him about pricing on custom parachutes. His profile says he has been on the forum recently, and in some other threads he has said he will try his best to keep up with emails. Does anyone know another way to contact him? (his profile on TRF is unavailable to PM) If anyone knows a way to get ahold of him, please help me!

Thanks

-Levi

Email at [email protected] or call 952-881-6260.

Buddy's account here on TRF seems to be in limbo. His past posts are shown as "Buddy Michaelson" but there is no account profile when you click on it. I wonder what the admins did? @Sparky
I sent multiple emails to that address with no reply. I called that number yesterday, but no one picked up the phone. I left a voicemail, but who knows if he will return it. I might try calling again today, if I have time.

Oh, I will be shopping elsewhere. Like, everywhere else. And here too. Look for my ultimate list of parachute manufacturers thread.

For now I will contact dragon rocketry. I guess I will do rocketman later.

Idk, I guess I just like custom parachutes and I will have to order a chute from them either way. Maybe I'll just get a normal one.

Guess what! Rocketman actually just called me back, so I guess crossfire was wrong. Anyway, I told him I appreciated the call back, but I decided to go with a different source. So don't worry, @DragonRocketry :) I told buddy that i would probably still get a chute sometime, but not a custom one. He seems like a nice guy. He called me back with a different number, so be aware of that. @crossfire, tell your friend to try again, it's worth a shot!

I have ordered over 40 parachutes from Buddy the last ten years. It pains me to see all the reported issues, since I have not found another parachute company with the same level of quality and variety that they have, especially for large 50-200 lb projects. I have had my share of challenges getting shipments over the last couple of years, but eventually Buddy always made good for me.

I've got a project that really needed a nine foot chute this weekend, but I only had an eight or a twelve, so I reached out to Buddy to confirm he had a nine in stock. He said he did, so I ordered it and he had it to me in five days (last week).

Ky is legendary and Rocketman has always had a crazy variety of selection and quality that is unmatched. I have even had them make custom ballistic kevlar chutes in random sizes. So, I sure hope they can turn it around and make good to those left hanging. Our hobby really needs a well functioning Rocketman, so I am rooting for them.

It's all about communication. They are great filling orders most of the time, but the communication is just not there.

Trust me and everyone else on here…. get Rocketman out of your mind for good. If you go that route, you will never see a parachute or your money but maybe some people just need to learn. There’s a reason he was kicked from this site.

I have ordered from him, though. Not custom stuff, but it was sent to me in good time. Here's my opinion. Rocketman chutes makes good products, but never buy anything that is custom or is being retailed by them. The time you spend trying to communicate with them is not worth it, even if you eventually get your item. And if you would just go to my parachute manufacturers list thread, you will see that I will be ordering from spherechutes, and every other company too.

My experience with Rocketman is limited, but I have had good luck with them for in-stock products. They do make nice chutes! Based on all the experiences discussed on this site, I’d proceed cautiously and if I really wanted something custom, temper my expectations. I did just pick up some “used” Rocketman chutes from a TRF member on this site (they were actually new and never used, but I’m now the second owner).

I’ve also picked up an 8’ Valkyrie chute for my DX3XL that seems very nice. Haven’t flown it yet, but it is high quality and looks sharp. I would certainly give them more business when the need arises.
