Would it work in a hybrid or would the properties of the wood cause adverse effects (e.g. explosions)?

It would be likely to work, albeit radically unpredictability. I'd want to be -really- sure about the moisture content.

Maybe someone who has an L2 and a lathe needs a winter project?

Whether wood would work and weather these would work are two questions, On the 'up' side, the stars are cut neatly but are not uniform as to the exact enter and the angles of the cuts. The bottom was kind of a mess. That's probably good for fires but not so much for motors.

This was just an example of random things that made me think about rockets.
