I am suprised its weight was over 8 pounds. My Mad Cow Little John close the same size rocket was 4.25 pounds with a 1 grain CTI 38mm G reload.I used an Aerotech DMS H219T with the delay reduced to about 10 seconds.
The Zephyr went about 1400 which was significantly less than RockSim had predicted. But I hadn’t adjusted the design with the actual rocket weight, and I also hadn’t figured out how to use my Altimeter3 correctly so I didn’t collect the flight data as I had intended.
It all ads up. In addition to the stock nylon shock cord with a full Nomex shock cord protection sleeve, I had 2-25ft sections of Onebadhawk 3/8" flat Kevlar recovery harness, double layer Nomex protecters for main and drogue parachute, 48" Fruity Chutes Ultra Iris toroidal main chute (7.44 oz) with Nomex chute bag, and numerous quick releases and swivels. The instrumentation included an Eggfinder Proton and GPS, 2-800mAh LiPo batteries as well as a Jolly Logic Altimeter3. The E-bay had redundant charge cannisters for both main and drogue. The DMS J270W motor weighed 1.58lb.I am suprised its weight was over 8 pounds. My Mad Cow Little John close the same size rocket was 4.25 pounds with a 1 grain CTI 38mm G reload.
What rocket is that? I’m guessing a Sumo.L1 Aerotech H115

That’s the same motor I bought for my L1 next month. It’s going in a Super DX3.Completed my L1 with a Madcow Torrent (w/ Stickershock wrap) on an AT H550ST.

Yes, it’s a Sumo. I can’t claim the photo though. That was taken by Gary Goncher of Oregon Rocketry. He really does nice work. What rocket is that? I’m guessing a Sumo.
Very coolActually all three on pad were cert flights two successful L1 and a mishap failed L2View attachment 428642

Good job
I can’t wait to take L1 certification and post my pic.
What happened to the thrust ring?My profile pic is my JR Cert rocket.
Not the actual flight, but the same rocket. Got my cert on my second attempt, on the first attempt, the thrust ring was ripped off the loc adapter (guess i shouldn't have used an i-500 for a cert flight). So i took a hacksaw and sent it on an H115DM and it was successful.

Tomahawk?
John: thank you for the pic - shows my rusto strawberry fields MDRM pre-flight. The MDRM looks great in the air on H115 Dark Matter - 6 second delay to 1400.' Perfect. Looks like Spitzen-sparken non-verkens. Like I said, I have parts for two more MDRM's. One is for my long haul trucker friend but one is for sale - at cost, no markup. If you're in Indiana, you can show up at the ROCI sport launch and I'll bring it.
Includes Estes NC and body tube, and the Semroc upgrade fins and motor mount.
I think the Max is blessed - my first LP version survived a lot of new rocketeer mistakes - melted parachute, hard landings, and even a giant crepe paper streamer when I wanted to fly it again and didn't have a spare parachute. The Rocketry Pantheon smiles on das humor.
Cheers / Robert
6 seconds with H115DM. That'll be weight dependent, mine is superlight.roberto whats the DL on the MD?
LOL
I got my L1 recently on a I500. The only problem I had with using that big of a motor is having to walk a half mile to get it then another half mile walking back.My profile pic is my JR Cert rocket.

That's why they sell JLCR. 1/2 mile each way is not to bad unless it's up hill both ways.I got my L1 recently on a I500. The only problem I had with using that big of a motor is having to walk a half mile to get it then another half mile walking back.
Where was this flight? My Flight photo is not so impressive......Its taken out of a video clip.
