I have a freshly built Hi-Tech that I plan to fly soon. It's built stock. I have a Kosdon I-300S (full 640 N/s) I am considering running in it. I realize that is a very uncommon motor nowadays, but thought maybe y'all could offer some feedback on flying this rocket with similar motors, say AT I-435 or J-350.

Thanks for any insights.

Do a simulation.
My guess is the rocket will be fine IF speed stays well below Mach, maybe Mach 0.6 as a maximum.

I've flown mine on a J350.. But I will disclose that I reinforced with coupler tubes nearly the full length of the airframe, and used tip to tip on the fins.

J570 with the ever unpopular "Bonus Delay" is what did it in.

- The Pad Manager trying to catch up is always entertaining to me...

I know I've done Kos 640 motors in my Vulcanite with no problem. I'd think the Hi-Tech would be okay with adequate nose weight.

Ditto on the Vulcanite, including AT I435 and Kosdon.

I think the 2.6 tube is slightly thinner wall, but fins still 1/8 ply, if you built it well should be ok on the I300

Mine has made 42 flights over the last 22 years on a variety of motors ranging from a G33 to H999.
