Since I have so much fun with masking, I found this tiny tip quite by accident.
A bit of paint "bleed" on my last bird. I grabbed a #2 pencil, with the RED eraser, and cleaned up the spill very nicely.
This technique works really good when the bleed is on top of an already dried layer of paint.
