hi could anyone tell me why my rocket doent stay of the blast deflector its suppost to be off it

Gravity.

You need to put a coupla wraps of tape around the rod above the deflector. Do the instrustions say to keep it off?

and where do you get them animated avatars

A good ol' fashioned wooden clothespin does the trick quite nicely (& is easier to add/remove as needed than tape!) Yeah, they'll get a little charred after a few flights but that's why several of them come in a pack
