I need some help from you Rocsim Gurus out there...

I picked up some Ellis Mtn 24mm dia G37s at Naram, so I want to design a rocket specifically for this motor. (Yes, a 24mm, .125" long G motor!!)

My problem is that this motor is so new, that no one has yet created a .eng file for download. (Yes, I have checked with Ellis, NAR, Thrustcurve.org, and EMRR)

So.... I figured, how hard could it be to create the file?

I went to the Apogee website and downloaded the newsletter that addresses .eng file creation, and followed it.

I created a file, plotted the thrust curve, and saved it as a .eng file. But it would not complie. A re-read of the newsletter said to save it as a TXT file, so I did...

Then, it dis-appeared.....

What the heck am I doing wrong?

Or better yet, can anyone tell me what how to save the .eng file after filling out the engine editor...... then how do I get it into my Rocsim?

Thanks!!
Phred

I am not real sure but I know files that I download I have to copy and paste into the data file in Rocsim before I can compile.
Something like c:/program files/apogee/rocsim/data
or wherever your rocsim program is kept.

scratching head(been awhile)
you have to save it to the compiler,, than run the compiler with >all< the engines(new and old)back into rocsim

err...something like that
