Just putting on the finishing touches on the smaller X-15 kit I purchased from Steve Neil.
Fun kit to build and looks like it will turn out nice.
Was wondering if anyone has finished and flown it yet?
Steve says can be flown on D and E engines.
Has anyone rocketsimed it yet as far as it needing any additional nose weight.
The cast cone is quite heavy and he says in his video most likely will not need any added weight.
I did not use the supplied boat tail, but used an Estes screw on retainer rather than to supplied hook.

I flew his X15 Delta when it first came out 10 years ago. It would fly on a D12 3 for a small field
I much preferred an F12. Built stock and did add some nose weight but the cones on those kits were thin. A little plasticine clay in the nose doesn't hurt especially with fancy motor retention. As always load it up and see if the CG is ok via computer or mindsim.
