So, the green tree frog ARF from Aus rocketry arrived today.
Very pleased with this kit for an as absolute nooby. I even got a bit excited when I saw the metal motor retainer.
Great instructions on cutting and folding the parachute.
I wasnt going to launch it today but the missus insisted.
All setup on the launch pad and woosh, nose cone pops out but the shock cord wasnt tied sufficiently. Lesson learnt but no damage done.
Used a B4-4 fyi.
Anyway a huge step up imo from the Estes.
Have a video but no idea how to post it so heres a pic when my helper.

I've no idea sorry, but compared to the Estes plastic motor mount it's a huge improvement.

I actually like the plastic twist-lock mounts that Estes puts in its RTF and ARF models (at least the few that I've seen)... but in any case the hook you've got there is more representative of what you'll see in the builder's kits that are in your future.

The screw-on motor retainers are even nicer if the rocket can accommodate them.

Welcome to the forum and the hobby, and beware of those rocket-eating trees! Oh and get that horse a rocket, he/she seems very interested as well. :)
