I'm working on a design that uses a foil lined motor tube (24mm). The design doesn't have an engine hook. So, how should I glue the standard Estes/Semroc type AR-2050 centering ring/thrust ring inside so that it'll hold up to the stresses of being launched?

I've got an idea to drill holes, then pinning it in place using a toothpick, or a paperclip.

Feedback appreciated!

Holes + pins sounds pretty good.

With or without, I'd sand the tube at that location & use epoxy.

I contacted Randy Boadway (eRockets), the seller of the foil lined tube, and had this exchange with him.

RB: Wood glue works fine.

Me: I've got white, and epoxy. I was thinking of drilling and pinning it after gluing it in with epoxy.

RB: Not necessary, white glue will hold. Don't damage the foil on installation. It will last a long time.
So, now we have it. I've been told that wood glue or white glue will do well, and not to damage the foil.

Thanks for the replies all!
