Binder Design, Giant Leap Rocketry, Dyna-Soar ... Looks like Colorado is getting it's run for the money with model/amateur rocketry companies.

Contrats Guys!

Hopefully the new owners maintain the same quality. I have had nothing but positive interactions and product from Giant Leap.

Just checked out the GLR website, when did they start offering K-frame kevlar/FG hybrid airframes?

Oh SNAP!.....

60" of 54mm airframe being ordered! This is the PERFECT product for next project.. Just add one Max-Q aluminum fincan and a Loki 54-4000 (this years black weekend treats to myself)..... NXRS 2017!

no - not heard anything official about any 'sale' yet.

Bob and Dix are top notch... they've already reached out and placed avionics orders (thanks guys).
My understanding is Kent will remain on as always as a local resource and distribution for Kloudbusters and the surrounding area.

Hi, just to clarify, I will continue on, in the short term, only to help in the transfer and to do g10 fin work. How long I do that only time will tell. I am not a local resource any more, but will be an enthusiastic supporter of the new owners. After 16 years I needed to move on in a new direction begun two years ago.

One more thing, the best years of GLR are in the future, and thank you,

Kent

Thanks for all you did/do Kent, it was a pleasure to be able to call and be able to get answers to specific questions.

That is exciting news. I have been ordering from Giant Leap for a lot of years. Aeropoxy is good stuff!

This is still unclear to me. It seems that you are inferring that GLR is now owned by Bob and Dix, as in TRF members "bob jablonski" and "dixontj93060"?

On a related note, Kent thanks for your help and giving me time on the phone whenever I had questions, you will be missed.

I will uncategorically deny owning or being in any negations to purchase Giant Leap (not that I wouldn't consider it).

Rich, I saw that as well. Could be interesting. I have used the Kevlar sock on several very durable, if of questionable finish quality rockets.

I just did a GLR Kevlar sock layup on a 4" tube and yes it is strong but I am not likely to use it again due to the work, and fuzzies...don't forget to mention the Kevlar fuzzies. I am however looking forward to reading a build thread from anyone who tries the k-frame.

A note to all who have not used Kevlar- never sand it- not ever! I have a rocket called the utility rocket. Super durable, but a bit fuzzy...do not really care- it is my always works beater rocket.

Holy smokes. That address is about a mile from my work and I drive by there all the time. I wonder if they're going to have a store front? That could be dangerous for me...

Add me to the list of "wow, I didn't know!"

I just placed an order with them a couple days ago...I saw the message about moving to a newer facility, had no idea it was going to be about 1/2 a country away. I just thought there might be a small delay, like the time they had the ice storm last winter...

Definitely check them out if you haven't before, they have a lot of unique stuff that is high quality.
