Another GREAT book about a different guy, same kind of hero, suffering the same sort of unfair and inaccurate criticism. HE is responsible for the modern USAF and not just the former SAC. I was amazed to find that post-WWII, he was the one responsible for USAF MWR hobby facilities like base auto hobby shops. He was a gear head himself. No other service had such things until he started them. He is also responsible for superior housing and food services. ALL of that was to attract and retain the best people since the pay back then seriously sucked.

Used those auto shops a lot to keep my junkers running. SAC seriously sucked though - some clown thought rotating shifts was efficient, but it just made everyone tired all the time.
