I need a little help, I have permission to download some original music mp3's from someones FTP(it's not copyrighted stuff)

what do I type in the "run" box to open an FTP site

he has provided the- host, username ,password,

I have done this once before but can't remember what to type to get there.

thanks in advance.

ftp hostname.domain

then follow the prompts to enter username and password.

You could also do this with a browser by using

Code:
ftp://username:[email protected]/path/

HTH!

In your browser address box type:

ftp://username:password@host

Host can be either a full domain name or an IP number.

If it gives you an error, click OK.
If it's kicked you back from the site login, enter
ftp://host If you're still at the login page, don't bother.

Then click/pull down File, and click Login As.
In the User Name box, type your user name, and then press TAB.
In the Password box type your password, and then press Login.

I don't know if that works in the start menu "run" box or not.

If you're going to do it regularly, look into the program WS_FTP. It's free and easy to use.

Edit: I didn't put that smiley in there. That's supposed to be a colon and a P .
