check/ replace the smoke detector batteries.
recently updated window$ to 1709(feature update, Tuesday to Thursday), and have been updating apps that M$ doesn't update, acrobat reader, irfanview, java...if you have updated to the 'latest and greatest' version of windows remember to check for software updates for your apps as well.

And look both ways before crossing the street....

And eat your greens...

And your crusts...

And call you mother more...

And floss...

(Seriously though: Rex is right...)

Tradition around here is to check your smoke detector batteries on the day the clocks change, which is either 11/4 or 11/5, depending on when you do yours. But I always forget and end up replacing them when they start to chirp. :facepalm:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
( upgrade if update is successful )

I have about 14 Ubuntu servers doing various things in my home lab - I just use unattended updates:

sudo apt install unattended-upgrades

Make sure to thank Keith & Bdale next time you see them. I believe altos and openrocket being packaged up for Debian variants is their fault :)
