It's just been revealed that the Montreal police force has been spying on a journalist, to see who in eh police dept. is leaking info.. This has apparently been going on for months..

Its also just been revealed that our provincial police force has been spying on about a half dozen journalists to find out their sources... that has apparently been going of for a few years.. Phones tapped & GPS locators used .. (and the warrant granted by a judge)

All because the cops want to know who the whistle-blowers are in their force..

Pretty sad..
Only in Quebec..

That is very sad. It just shows you that Officials who stoop to such tactics, are fearful that their illegal activities will show up in the press.

Edward Snoden even made a call for the police chief's resignation!! (He was giving an online Q & A at McGill University..)

Yeah, it's been an interesting past few years here.. This is the latest, and yes, it probably is more widespread than anyone originally thought.

We've also just wrapped up about 3 or 4 years looking into the construction industry; collusion for higher pay-outs, preferred contracts for select companies, rig bidding processes, and of course, how deeply entrenched organized crime is, etc... amazing how all this is tied to politics, political party donations....

So basically just like the KGB except they don't kill you?
