    Hello all!

Freedom Launch was always on Labor day weekend. We decided to move it up to Memorial day. Cooler weather, schools out so come on down to Camden [ 1 hr from Columbia or Charlotte] right off I -20.
Gonna be a great fun & fly 3day weekend. Cheap hotels and grub abound.

Chris' Rocket supply will be there for all your motor and supply needs.
More to follow , just be aware and bookmark that weekend for flying fun on the Sod!
We are child friendly and adult fun.
We'll have a Freedom Launch Website up soon, so plan on joining us.

Plenty of low-mid-high power pads. 1010 ...1015 & rods for old timers up to 1in. Club has hosted 2 LDRS's in the past so we have plenty high quality equipment and a WilsonFX launch system
Away cell for the biggies! 10,000ft waiver and maybe even a swap meet to unload all your un-needed stuff.

Amen to some T-shirts. And not those cheesy ones they sold us at NSL few years back. Maybe in black this time around?

CJ/Chuck, how high will you all be planning for given the field size and typical weather that time of year? Try to stay around 4k AGL, or is higher doable? Just trying to gauge potential rocket/motor combos.

Realistically depends on upper winds. I have flown to 7,000 on calmer days, windy days [14-18mph]stay 3-4000.
If you fly low power to mid [Estes A to composite G's] you have 99% chance of walking recovery on mowed grass. A "shear" pleasure....lol

Just so ya know club record is over 13,000 landed on field calm day. It would take absolute ideal conditions to replicate, but one never know when Ma Nature will co-operate...:)

NORMAL if there is such a thing would be 3-7,000 of course a big heavy rocket falling straighter with less wind "push" on decent compared to light skinny high flier.....you have to fly the field, with what you fly, & pick the right motor.
Simply put everyone, fly your skill level & you will be fine. Camden is not the place for setting records, but Great for general, fun-lov'n, sport flying.

Pretty much like flying the O'burg field but staying on the main circle.
There is no forgiveness on border of rear/left side, but front, and right ya can get away with an oooppsie and not be in trouble. winds tend to go that way luckily.
In any case it will be FUN and ....your real close to Shaw, so ya know how to get there.

Yup. Flight altitude is day to day and sometimes hour to hour. The winds are usually favorable in may but a storm can kick up the winds and it changes everything.

The best part of launching in Camden is the camaraderie amongst the participants. There is also great depth in the expertise offered and help available for both newbies and experienced flyers. If you make it, you're bound to have a good time!
