Frangible Arcas -Explosive Sheet Area

Beginning the build for Rocketarium's Frangible Arcas - any suggestions for creating the transition between the tube and the Explosive Sheet Area (Steps 8/9 per the instructions)? Thinking about placing two cardboard rings around the area, filling with Model-lite then sanding down at an angle....

Cardstock wrap to proper thickness, the rings can be used to keep it a neat wrap, less to fill.

So this took a while, but as promised here are some photos. Used the card stock, however the filler didn’t work so well. Went to Fixit epoxy and had a good result.
