two wraps of mylar on the tube might give you what you need..plus a nice release film.

Exactly. You will not use it as a mandrel with something on the tube as a release.
Thanks Tony, however I no longer go with mylar, parchment paper, etc. it has become an annoying time consuming process. I have switched to frekote 700 and I have tried it. I am so far happy with it and I dont have to worry about applying anything on the mandrel other than spraying on the frekote.
Hence why I need the mandrel to be 1.52"
