Cool! Keep us posted on the build. I built one recently and documented my build here : https://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12141&highlight=building+a+fliskits+cheetah
which included my mistake of initially gluing the sustainer fins to the booster and the booster fins to the sustainer. Other than my mistake, it was straightforward and fun to build.

I've only launched mine once, and only as a single stage due to the very windy conditions that launch day.

This is a very cool rocket and I plan on launching it in all of its two-staged glory tomorrow (New Years Day!). The temp is supposed to be in the 60's here in Maryland tomorrow.

ok well, construction is going a little slower than first planned. i came down with some bronchitis, so thats no fun. but all the fins are cut out, the booster section is complete and the sustainer MMT is in place....there's about 2mm between the sustainer and booster due to bad measurements on my part, but it should be ok...my camera ran out of batteries, but pics should be up shortly. one SHOCKER(pun intended) was the kevlar cord for the *shock* cord(chuckle chuckle chuckle) is mounted through the BT on the outside of the rocket...something i've never seen before. rather interesting....anyway, i'll keep you guys posted.;)

Jim designed it like that so the sustainer will recover horizontally (which translates into increased drag). Just the streamer itself would be too little & a chute would be too much for the Cheetah to recover under.
