Hi all,

I bought the Estes "Executioner" a D and E rocket with laminated Birch fins. Two of the fins are too warped to use. I'll probably just return it, but I wonder if I can take out the warp somehow?

I'm thinking of wetting the find and compressing on a flat surface until they dry - a day or two. Is there any hope for these?

Thanks,

Revolvr;

Boil some water in a tea pot or pan and hold the fin in the steam. DO NOT dunk it in the water. Oh, and use some tongs or something so you don't burn your hand.

After the fin gets softened a bit, fold a paper towel over it, lay it on a flat surface and weight it with a few heavy books. Let it sit for a few days until dry. That should straighten it out.
