TRF is starting/reviving a practice of the previous incarnation of TRF known as the "Fireside Chat".

Each month, a selected vendor will be invited to host a session in the TRF Chatroom to answer questions. The theme of the program is up to the vendor. It may be a general discussion. It may be the rollout of a new product. It may focus on a particular aspecto of rocketry or have no focus other than rocketry. All of that is up to the guest host.

In an effort to systemitize this and let people know what to expect on a regular basis, our goal is to have these chats on the 4th Saturday of the month from 9-10 pm Eastern Time. We are flexible, however, and will try to accomdate the needs of the host and of the audience.

Here are some of the vendors we have lined up so far:

June - Fliskits (Jim Flis) DONE
July - Pemberton Technologies (Layne Pemberton) RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER
August - Sirius Rocketry (David Miller) DONE
September - Semroc (Carl McLawhorn) DONE
October - Pemberton Technologies (Layne Pemberton)
November - Art Applewhite Rockets (Art Applewhite)

Here are the ground rules we are starting off with for the fireside chats:

When you come into the room the host will welcome you.
When entering a room please do not start chatting beyond saying HI
The vendor will ping you for a question in the order your name appears in the list
It is helpful to have your question pre-typed so you're ready when pinged. It slows the whole chat down if you type your 20 word question after being pinged
If you have no question, respond with PASS and the vendor will go on to the next person
If you DO have a question but are just now typing it, respond immediately with "HANG ON" or some other feedback so we know you're there
DO NOT CHAT with others unless you do so in PM's (don't clutter the chat with other chats
DO NOT SEND PM's to the vendor (he/she is busy with public questions)
If you have a problem, PM the moderator
If someone is breaking the rules, the moderator should PM them and work it out while the chat goes on
If you are going to leave your monitor but stay in chat, change your username to indicate that so we can skip you.
