You may already be aware of a fin alignment tool available on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:695599). The scad file contained in the zip file can be customized for the number of fins, body tube diameter, etc to create an stl file. Perhaps you'll find it useful as well. The photo below shows a fin alignment tool that I printed for construction of an Estes ESAM. I've used OpenSCAD to customize several of these for various projects.

Works great. Buddy just used one I did for him on a 7.5" LOC. I've used them on bt60 tubes too.
