Fibreglass Nosecones

I'm interested on how to make custom fibreglass nosecones. I'd like to avoid vacuum-bagging because I don't have the equipment. I've heard of fibreglassing over foam and then using acetone to dissolve the foam. I tried this but it's hard to match the shape of it. Any ideas?

I glue the foam to a plywood plate and turn it on a lathe.

I still have the trouble of matching the curve with fibreglass. I know what you mean. Do you just then coat the foam in epoxy?
