Fiberglass Coupler Cost

Just curious if anyone can explain to me why fiberglass coupler costs twice as much per foot as their associated airframe? Is it a production quantity/supply-demand thing or what?

I suspect its wall thickness more than anything else. My 6" Madcow Stinger's coupler is at least 50% thicker than the airframe tube.

its the fact that they outside has to ground to a much tighter spec.
