I really have started to like the British/English band "The Killers." They have this sound that I absolutely love!

I also like most all alternative rock bands, and some classic rock also.

I'm a huge fan of anything except really dark grunge-metal. I've only heard one or two bands/artists I didn't like. Some of them get old pretty fast (most pop and alt rock fall into this category for me), but nevertheless have their own unique harmonic sound to add to the mix.

Yes, this includes techno. Sasha and Digweed are excellent DJs!

I even have a (gulp) carpenters cd,because I think she had one of the best ever voices.

I personally like some oldies 50's and 60's stuff. I also like some 80's and most 90's and some of todays stuff.

A friend of mine also got me hooked on Weird Al Yankovic. He really cracks me up.

The best band *ever* is Pink Floyd. Hand down. Period.

For blues music, consider the genius of Howlin' Wolf.

For "pop" music - Peter Gabriel is quite the artist.

For Rock 'n Roll, you gotta love the ' Stones. It's Only Rock 'n roll is a superb album.

But no one - and I mean - *no one* comes close to the depth and perfection of Pink Floyd.

The eclectics will pledge allegiance to the Dead and Phish.... groundbreaking in their own right and a good listen (depending on the intake of THC and LSD.)

But


Wish You Were Here is one of the best albums of all time. The only argument that I could make for one better is Dark Side of the Moon.

I've always liked electronic music such as Tangerine Dream, Synergy (Larry Fast), The Art of Noise and Galbatron.
Classic rock, Rush, Moody Blues, Queen, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, ELP, Pink Floyd, The Who,Alice Cooper, Jethro Tull.
I like Weird Al's parodys.
Musical fantasy and SF Rhapsody and Klaatu.

Some of the trance stuff I like, much is boring.

Animals is a *vastly* under-played album. Exquisite. Awesome.

"Pigs" (track 3 on the CD) is just awesome. Dogs is more intricate and meaningul, and Sheep as orchestral and more laiden with angst.

I love that album.

The early 'Floyd is equally as groundbreaking, but lacking the conceptuality of the post-Dark Side projects. Influenced more strongly by the band's founder (Syd Barrett) the songs are full of free-form and lacking symphonic fluidity. Important in their concept, interesting in their execution, and entertaining in their result. Those albums really were "the cutting edge" before Waters and Gilmour took over and brought the band - and rock 'n roll, for that matter - to the next level.

The "transition" album from Barret's acid chaos to Waters/Gilmours perfect insanity was Meddle. Glimpses of the post-Barret Floyd emerge with "One of These Days," "Pillow of Winds," and - most importantly - "Fearless." Barret lives on with one triumphant, developmental jam with "Albatross."

Great album.

Roger Waters - Amused to Death
Pink Floyd - Echoes - (the "greatest hits" thingy. I won it off the radio)
Blues Traveller - (The one from 2 years ago) just the first 3 songs.
