I been thinking about bulding a rocket that uses Aerotech's F16 RC motors. It will be based off of two pieces of Estes BT-80 tubing. Since the RC motors are plugged, I want to incorperate an ejection system. I was thinking of placing a tube on the side of the motor tube that will house an ejection charge. A fuse is lit by the exaust of the motor and burns its way into the ejection charge chamber, where it will set off the charge. I don't want to use electronics, because the F16 does not have much lifting power, and batteries are heavy. So, what do you guys think?

a) Do you have a LEUP?

b) Is there a fuse out there that doesn't require a LEUP that has a burn rate you can predict with the accuracy you'll probably need?

I'm asking out of ignorance, not out of judgement. :)

No I don't have a leup. The fuse I have is canon fuse.... It burns about 1" every 10 seconds. Not very accurate... but neither are aerotech delays...
