Anyone know what the cable and dots on the top of the canopy are all about? Egress system related?

F-16 Fighting Falcons • Cockpit View (2020)

Helmet target acquistion and kill system. Look up JHMCS but essentially a pilot no longer has to point the nose of the aircraft within a radar cone to acquire and lock on a target before firing a missile. Now the JHMCS tracks via the dots on the canopy and sensors in the helmet, which way the pilot is looking, projects a HUD image on the visor (the canopy cable is tied to the avionics system ), and if the pilot is looking over their shoulder as the target passes by, they can see the target on their visor, use the switch on the throttle to select their target, and fire on the target behind them instead of having to dog fight it in to a optimum position. Another piece of gee wiz is that if you and I were flying in different formations separated by 20-50 miles, you have an aggressor hot on your tail, I can see what your radar is tracking and fire on your adversary and they never see the missile until its too late to duck. But that is a separate integrated system...
