F-106/F-102 Delta Dart/Dagger R/C Rocket glider

This model really scoots, 27.5 length, 20" wingspan(scale is 15") only 1 sq foot wing area, but only 8.35 oz rtf using an E-6 motor....

I have a love/hate relationship with that bird … when the F-15 was "new" it was my favorite fighter jet … in 1982 or thereabouts, I went on a base visit (with the Boy Scouts) to Griffiss AFB. I knew it was a NORAD air defense base with interceptors, and was very disappointed to *not* see any F-15s, only F-102s and F-106s.

Several years later, when I went to Air Force ROTC field training, our training flight posed in front of an F-102. That time of my life was pretty impactful and changed me at a fundamental level. Am looking at that pic as I type this message.

Do you have a picture of your whole fleet of these things? Seems like the number has gotten pretty large.

I don't think i can get them all down into one frame....I hang them in the bat cave, I've got more than 40 kit prototypes now..

Thanks Dave, I have decided to kit this, got a couple of requests, I also made a separate set of templates for F-102 side plates and tail so everything else will be identical, setup, instructions just different shapes to look like the dagger.

I was asked by a customer to modify the dart into a Dagger so will offer it both ways...here she is partially done, just need the stars/bars/lettering Also showing the Dart so you can see the differences. Different side plates, canopy moved back, shortened conduit, different tail. Rest is identical as is the weight, specs, flight performance...

Here is a video of my Delta Dagger in flight, was a nice day , first flight which is the last in the video I misjudged my distance a bit and just caught the edge of the long grass...

Hi there Gentleman I had three great flights on my Dyanasoar F-102. For once I had a morning all blue skies and 0 wind perfect. First flight 2min glide, 2nd 3min and 3rd 4.5 it is I let go vertically off the rail till burn out it was a spec. Blue skies made that flight doable I also added expo of 30% on ailerons & elevator that helps when your higher up and flying a dot help from over controlling. It fly’s great!!! Thanks Frank B. !!
