I have just finished a Big Bertha... 1965 version.

The model was built with vintage parts: A Vintage BALSA estes nosecone, vintage body tube, launch lug, and engine mount. The fin balsa is new.

Even the chute is a vintage ESTES 18" checkered chute. The only 'modern' exception is a 1/8" elastic shock chord.

The balsa was sealed with dope... about 6 coats.

The paints are Krylon.

Here is the result:

How much of the roll pattern on that Bertha is decal?

I ask because I got one of the $5 Big Betty clearance kits direct from Quest, and I'd love to paint it to match that scheme or something similar. I'm just not too sure about the effect of the difference in BT diameter (Betty is 40mm Quest BT-40, Bertha is ~41.6mm BT-60).

TIA!

The upper decal is two bars that roll around the BT, and then two vertical decals with the US Air Force in between. You can put the starts and bars anywhere...
