I guess the engineers at Estes REALLY want to make sure pencils have a VERY tight fit in the guide tube at the end of the tube marking guide tool. The instructions tell you to "sand it down". Of course that means you can't use a mechanical pencil(which I prefer). Not having the patience to dick around with sandpaper I used a hobby knife to "customize" a standard no. 2 pencil.

Yeah, I'm really not sure why they didn't make it sized for an unmodified no.2.
