My flying buddy Dave Schaefer brought an older RC RG project of his to SMALL him n Little Rock to fly that I had never seen before.
lt was a very cool 1.74x scale of the Estes Astron Space Plane. (BT55 tubing). Monokoted balsa wings.
it flew three times, twice on a C6-0, with a bypass vent for the blow through, and once on a D2.3.
It was a touch heavy per conventional wisdom for the D2.3, with the model weighing more than 6 oz, but less than 7 oz, if I recall correctly. However, it boosted with enthusiasm! The C6 flights were short but exciting.
Really enjoyed seeing this.
Will have to do one myself someday, perhaps a touch bigger.
