The Apogee and current Estes Saturn 1B kits are very, very similar, with the only significant differences being the overall size and the construction of the LM adapter. Other than that you could probably mix up the assembly instructions and still have a successful build.

James

From what I saw the Apogee kit is more detailed when it comes to the thruster sets on the SM for example.

You most likely use a free email account like yahoo or similar, It says something about it when you register. I had the same problem until I changed my email to the one I have with my service provider.
That may be. I use the mail address from my website. If that does not work and the admins do not answer the contact form it should not be...

For the sake of completeness: The Saturn 1b is now finished and balanced with small errors. The take-off weight with an Aerotech 24/40 casing including 30g weight (the heaviest grain I could find in the overview that makes sense for flying) is 261.9 grams.

It turned out quite handsome :) I'm looking forward to the first (and hopefully not the last) start.

My glory, that is simply beautiful. Nice job!

And another one is gone. I always like Saturn 1B build threads. Great job.
This kit has come a long way since it was introduced some years ago.
For me, the improvement over the years has made building the rocket easier.
The hardest part is still the paint job.

The fourth rocket I ever built was an Estes Little Joe 2. I had the kit for a few years and I built it with little experience and to be honest, I hate my self for it as I massacred it. And I know I could do it no problem today, but I just wish I had waited. I still have the remains, and I want to try and repair it, but it’ll never fly…

And now I want a Saturn 1B kit because man you did such an amazing job on yours. And this tread just made me think of that statement above.

Call me a jerk but the white tank version is already planned :) My stash (just as everyone elses) is growing :D

I have a new SATURN-1B "project" for you . . .

Dave F.

An incredible build of one of my favourite rockets (yes, I'm Canadian, hence the "u").
Your attention to detail is as good as I've seen. One can sense that you have your heart in this project.
Perfectly done.
Jim

McTschegsn, I searched the Ole Rocket Forum and the web, but was unable to locate wraps similar to yours for a 1/100 Saturn V. Are you aware of any?
