The Polaris has an interesting history. It existed before 1979. It was originally the Marauder, a cold power convertible. Here is a link to the Estes 1974 catalog page showing the Marauder.

Very interesting. I never realized it was the same rocket. I wish I would have known that before I filmed the introduction so I could have included that little tidbit. Thanks for sharing that.

You did a better job holding to the kit renderings than I did. My largest problem was the slide-off decals, which were not in great shape due to the age.

When I flew it (once, just to say I did) I had a parachute recovery of the body, but the nose left the party. I found it later on the ground. The small screw eye had pulled out of the balsa nose. I found it later and it is now on a shelf.
