does anyone know of a list that date estes kits by hang tags and their colors? i know of the lists that show the year released and their oop date, but is there such a list like i am asking about? i would love to be able to date my older, unopened kits.

if anyone knows of such a resource, i would appreciate it.

thanks

I don't know the years but...

The earliest ones had no hang tag, (early 60's)
Then the yellow, (mid to late 60's)
Then the blue, (70's)
Then the red,(mid 70's early 80's)
Then no hangtag just the thick plastic, (mid 80's)
Then the plastic bag had the launch profile on the back, late 80's through the 90's)
Then the 3/4 box design inside a box.

That seems about right...I guess???

OK! disrergard that last post...I was waaaaaay off base

I just got off the phone with Estes (I always get right through!?)

The colored hang tags refer to the "skill level"

yellow is skill level 1

blue is skill level 2

red is skill level 3
