Hey guys, good to be back. Now I have a question for you A not so little birdie (LW) gifted me with an Estes Maxi Brute Pershing 1-A. Still sealed in shrink wrap, still taped in the open ended shipping box, never opened. It still has the original shipping label!
Last but not least, two sets of 3D laser modeled fins. No balsa work!
However, I faced with a conundrum. What to do with it??
It was a gift so I'm not going to sell it. But I am curious what they are worth.
I could put it someplace safe and keep it for retirement.
Or *duh duh dummmmm* build it.

What do you fine folks think? Don't build definitely keep. What may be scary though? is if Estes decides to produce one in the next couple years which seams could be a good possibility. Definitely a good 350 to maybe 450 on eBay though. A very tough find. And if Estes does decide to produce? Look at the values of other oop kits that they reproduced. Just saying,I know you all know that.

Carefully measure and clone. I've got a gelcoat version of the nosecone in hand and a piece of MAC 4" body tube waiting for me to assemble. I decided on a 38mm mmt. Boyce Aerospace Hobbies 3D printed fins and body details are gonna get stuck all around the outside in random places... :p:p

Build it, clone it, collect it, there's no wrong answer :) . Personally I'd probably clone it with beefier parts and at least a 29mm mount; the Maxi-Brutes were all a bit flimsy. It's kinda cool that it's in its original shipping box from Penrose.
