How in the world does a 12 and 18 inch parachute, along with the shock cord and wadding, get packed into this dinky body tube?

Me and my daughter built this a few years ago and never got around to launching it. Having learned a lot since then, we probably should have attached the shock cord another way instead of the way the instructions indicated...the little fold over piece of paper glued inside the body tube. Anyway...

Now it's time to launch it, but man! It is a lot of material going into that body tube.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I flew mine with one parachute, the smaller one, and the egg capsule at the end of the shock cord attached to the airframe. The egg capsule with the rubber cradle is quite effective protecting the payload.
