This was the last rocket I built before my lengthy rocketry hiatus several years ago, and one I have yet to launch. I didn't care for the humorous decals or the fin design, so I used a spare Honest John sheet my friend had and did a little trimming. The paint is a rust-colored primer. I like to think of it as the American postwar version of the V-3, done up for some testing at the Cape.

This is one of my last built rockets in the mid 80's. Never painted till I found out about a club nearby. Went to my parents an retrieved my rockets. I done some glue reinforcement on fins and motor mount, painted, and put on original decals. Been flying great since, had a cracked fillet that has been repaired a couple of times. Love the little guy!

John, could you please find or create a home for this? It's a Semroc Der V-1.5—A half scale derivative of the Estes Der V-3. I'm not sure what you would like to do with it. Thanks a bunch.

Sorry it has taken a while.

It will get done. Not sure when but it will get done.

No worries. I just didn't know what to do with it. Thanks, again.

I know more about what to do with it now, thanks to you. I did not know the relation to V3.

Decided to give my V-3 a makeover before its maiden launch (and to cover up the less-than-impressive decal work). Went with a simple camo scheme after laying on a few coats of green.

I had one back in the Eighties and remember it being a good Bird. I painted mine dark Blue Metallic and used the Stock Decals. It was claimed by the Tree Gods eventually.

I recently finished building Semroc's Der V-1.5 downscale and rounded out the family. All three were launched at URRG's Black Friday launch yesterday.

Here is my V3 and its clone.
Original V3 on right I bought broken on Ebay.
I fixed 2 fins and strengthened the crumpled body tube with a coupler/shock cord mount.
Got a dozen launches out of it before the motor mount burnt through.
I decided to reuse its nose cone on the 3 fin clone shown on the left. I call it Der V3-1F

I wasn't a fan when I first built it, but once Carl passed I changed my mind about it and finished it as intended.

My fav Der V3
