Finally finished up my latest Rona build. This rocket has a very cool profile. The paint scheme is my son’s idea. It’s a way I can get him involved on the more complicated builds. His design for the drop tanks were rough on me, and I forgot to sand smooth the part that connects with the plane until it was too late. By the time I noticed it, I got lazy. Next up is the Estes Shuttle.

Looks fantastic 'Row! That is a good looking scheme you son cooked up!

I have one of these in the build pile and I would need several more to try all of the paint jobs I've got in mind. The shape is evocative of so many different eras of sci-fi, not to mention actual vehicles, that you could probably build a dozen of them and still have a few ideas left over.

Thanks Mugs! It’s a fun build, with lots of different techniques to use in the build. It has the laser cut intakes from the QCC Explorer that are made from really thin balsa, a wing you bevel in three different places, and some serious shaping of the tail fin. And all that’s before the tricky masking — I painted before assembly.

You need to change your handle to “Front Row”!

Great combo of finish and great custom decor!

Fly her once and then make her a hanger queen for display!

Seriously nice skills here.
