Oh, yeah. Forgot that exchange.
This is strange. As of Saturday morning, the Pro Series II Optima is up for sale. $69.99.
eRockets also has the rerelease of the Black Star Voyager in stockThis is strange.
Chris' Rocket Supply had the Pro Optima available for sale last Monday.
eRockets had the Ripley model available (By the time I saw it on the website there was only one left).
This is sure a strange product release.
The Optima Pro is not a limited edition kit.I hope I'll be able to get the Optima at my favorite local hobby shop, and that it's not one of those annoying limited edition kits.
I bought an Optima Pro from an online vendor and two Constellations direct from Estes. The Optima is not for me, I like the LPR rockets so I bought a second Constellation.
This is good news. The Optima Pro is not a limited edition kit.
Yes it is, not sure what the logic is behind scattering what appears to be small quantities out to various retailers with seemingly no announcements or lead up...This is strange.

It's not outrageously bad, although I never played the game, so that connection doesn't exist for me. But once again, high priced (with shipping and tax, the flying version is over $63). It's just not worth it to me for a 19" snap together rocket and figure. But I'd say that is probably a better deal than the ornament! And for Kerbal fans, they might like it.As of today, the kerbal rocket is on the website
I am a kerbal fan and I think it’s a fair price considering it’s a collaboration between the two companies. They released it at a good time since the fall of KSP 2 and the now rise of the original KSPIt's not outrageously bad, although I never played the game, so that connection doesn't exist for me. The other 3 options are cute (desk and ornament items - there's those Estes rocket ornaments!) but again, a little pricey for someone who doesn't know anything about the game.
The "good news" is that you could buy a few of these, easily spending over $100 on a rocket and some decorations, and get your free shipping!
I should have updated this earlier. It was definitely a case of "under promise, over-deliver." Ordered Friday, delivered Monday. Now that the Kerbal stuff came out, I was finally able to place my order. Estimated arrival 12/23-27.
Seems like poor planning to still be coming out with new stuff too close to Christmas to deliver by Christmas.
(I usually get stuff from them pretty quick, so I'm hoping that's just a very conservative/CYA estimate.)

Of the Kerbal Rocket? It's a gift for my kid, so I haven't opened it. The box looks just like on the web site.Photo?
Hmm.. Orange Bullet fins on a longer tube. The Ripley Rocket is now available.
Looks like any other swept fin model rocket except for those pads on the fins.striking alien-like design, which captures the imagination and adds a unique twist to your rocketry collection!
Said pads are the very opposite of aerodynamic performance, and the rocket in general looks over-finned to me.The sleek, extraterrestrial aesthetic is not only visually appealing but also enhances aerodynamic performance, ensuring your flights are out of this world!
Be thankful that it is not your job to generate unique and exciting ad copy for an endless series of nearly interchangeable 3/4FNC rockets. (yeah I know this one isn't *quite* a 3FNC but close enough). It's kind of comforting to know that Estes ad copy is still so hilariously straw-grasping, even after all these decades:
